VidBlaster v0.31 - Introducing Drag & Drop

Saturday, 26 July 2008

VidBlaster version 0.31 introduces drag & drop for all the players and the overlay module, e.g. to load a file in a player you either use the Open button, the drop down list, or you drag the file from any other program that supports drag & drop (like explorer) and drop it onto the player module. Two major bugs have been fixed: one in file saving (compression setting was way too high) and one in playback of QuickTime files. Various minor improvements and bug fixes complete this release.

VidBlaster v0.30 - Introducing Screen Capture

Tuesday, 15 July 2008

VidBlaster version 0.30 introduces screen capture. Screen capture works just like a camera that's pointed to (part of) your Windows desktop and allows you to capture anything that's on your screen. This could be business charts, graphics, web sites, videos from YouTube, video from IM clients like MSN or Skype, etc. etc.
I've also added a Reencode option to the Players, allowing you to convert any video into a lightweight version with a single mouse click. The resulting video will use less CPU power to play. To monitor the CPU, I added the CPU Usage window. You can call it up manually, but it will also appear fully automatic if you are demanding too much of your machine and CPU usage goes into the red.. Other changes include a now logarithmic scale for the audio peak meter and some bug fixes.
